Introducing Pemi-Baker Academy Blog

Pemi-Baker Academy is launching a new interactive blog as a part of a website makeover.

 

By launching this new Pemi-Baker Academy Blog we hope to accomplish the following things:

 

  1. Teach every student at Pemi-Baker Academy and Plymouth Outdoor Learning Academy how to participate in an online publication where every individual has rights and responsibilities for the content of the blog and the quality of the shared experiences that it creates.
  2. Teach every student at Pemi-Baker Academy, and POLA students where they have an interest, how to create their own blog linked to the Pemi-Baker Academy Blog. This personal blog will allow them the freedom to write about their own personal interests as well as to further explore the issues raised in class. Students will be allowed to use other web resources on their personal blogs to enhance their own enjoyment of the blogging process and to make them of greater interest.  
  3. Teach each student - and parents where they have an interest - how to add comments to the main blog on various topics.  At their own discretion, students will be permitted to decide whether they will invite comments to their own personal blogs and whether they will comment on other blogs. 
  4. Improve the writing and communication skills of students by encouraging them to do personal journaling/blogging on their own blog as well as encouraging them to participate in the various discussions on the Pemi-Baker Academy Blog.
